Located on a leafy stretch of brownstones in the historic district of Clinton Hill, this 4-story townhouse was transformed by YUN Architecture into a sophisticated, healthy home that celebrates wellness, as well as Finnish and Asian art and design. Besides completely reimagining the interiors, YUN restored the historic front facade, added a terrace from the parlor kitchen to the rear garden, and a bulkhead to access a new roof garden. They added an elliptical skylight over a new sinuous staircase that let's light trickle down through the center of the house. A single birch tree at the roof garden, visible through the skylight, reinforces the design ethos of having a connection to nature and the home’s deep Finnish roots.
