Ghent House, located in the eponymous town in upstate New York, is a private home designed by Thomas Phifer and Partners. Its organization and design is conceptually rigorous—each program of the domestic space (master suite, living room, dining room, kitchen, guest suite, and kid's room) receives its own volume. These distinct programs/volumes sit as cubes in the rural landscape, connected by a single, meandering arched corridor. The volumes each have one window, all facing the same Western exposure with sweeping views of the Catskill mountains.
