At the end of Long Island at the terminus of a private road lies an old shingle house overlooking the ocean. With this incredible site secured, the new homeowners tasked Oliver Freundlich Design with updating the interiors and adding a poolhouse so that the property might better reflect their modern sensibilities. The result is a home that is both of its place, helped along by the cultivation of native flora executed under the supervision of Summerhill Landscapes, and whose interiors echo a calm more often seen in Northern European households.
