AD100 designer Charles de Lisle overhauled a San Francisco house to take full advantage of its sweeping city views while imbuing it with a sense of playfulness that makes contemporary architecture feel anything but sterile. The entire house is full of character, owing partly to unique collaborations with artists, from a kitchen island designed by Martino Gamper to a wood wall sculpture by local sculptor Ido Yoshimoto, to name two interventions. Taken as a whole, the house is an incredibly elevated rendition of a contemporary California aesthetic for a family that values warmth and whimsy.
